The American Reformed* Irish Druids sect does not seek or
take direct donations of any kind. But we do believe in
charity. There is a marvelous old tale told that Luge, the many
talented Irish Druidic god of farmers, blacksmiths, and such,
went out among the folk disguised as a beggar in need. He ask the
aid of 3 strangers he meet on the road. The first two refused, and
calamity befell their quests. The 3rd man, though of humble means
and great need himself, gave the aid sought to the disguised god. Of
course he was rewarded with the kind of magical boon only the Faerie Folk
can give.
Interestingly, there is a similar myth about the
Hindu god Krishna. So the next time you
see a beggar remember that they might be god! |
